По умолчанию question for a Doctor
Dear Doctors, my appologies for using English in this message, I promise, i will get it sorted next time.My bmi now is 36. I am trying to make a decision which operation to do,shunt, sleeve or sleeve2 Do you perform sleeve2 for everybody now or it's still available for locals only? would you do shunt with bmi 36?
Do not apologize. Indications of all bariatric operations are the same. Operation can be done to a patient if his BMI 40 or 35 in case of presence of diseases associated with being overweight. We can make for you SLEEVE, or SLEEVE-2, but must take into account the fact that the SLEEVE-2, remains an operation with an uncertain long-term prognosis. We like our colleagues in other countries, still do not have enough experience of this operation. We still do not know the exact criteria of "tightening" and some patients for this reason have to re-operate. If you live far away from us, you can need, in case of problems, to have access to local doctors. In this case, we are not sure that they will be able or willing to help you. In your case, it will be better to make the standard operation, which is well known in the world.
